Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which has come under fire over the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is set to hold a crucial meeting on July 6. According to reports, the preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a proposal to create the post of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) are among the key agenda items.
The meeting will be held at Mani Ramdas Chavni, the ashram of Trust chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, at 3 pm.
According to the agenda accessed by PTI, the appointment of a CEO to oversee the management of the Ram Temple will be discussed.
The first of the five agenda items, confirmed by officials on Saturday, is a discussion on the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra. Both, along with special invitee Gopal Rao, have been at the centre of the controversy since the alleged theft of donations came to light.
The meeting comes amid two parallel investigations into the allegations — one by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), whose tenure has been extended until the end of July, and the other by the police.
Both the SIT and the police have recorded the statements of the three senior Trust functionaries. However, no FIR has been registered against any of them so far.
Meanwhile, lawyers from the Faizabad Bar Association have submitted a written complaint to the police seeking the registration of an FIR against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao.
The remaining agenda items include discussions on the unaudited income and expenditure statement, the balance sheet for the financial year 2025-26, other financial matters, and their approval.

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, who had attended previous meetings virtually due to age-related health issues, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lucknow.
According to the hospital's medical bulletin issued on Friday, he is expected to be discharged within two to three days.
Eight persons named in an FIR registered on the basis of the SIT's preliminary report have already been arrested. While all were initially remanded to 14 days of judicial custody until July 23, the police later obtained the custody remand of Avinash Shukla, one of the key accused, according to investigators.
Police sources said important evidence linked to the alleged donation theft has been recovered from Shukla's residence in Ayodhya.
